Chair: Larry Huang
Hometown: Sydney, Australia
Larry is the Chair of GUCD and a junior in the College majoring in Government and minoring in Philosophy and French. He's been an active member in GUCD since his freshman year, as a team member of the gender equality teams and team leader on the economics team. As vice-chair, he prioritized advocating and building relationships on-campus, in DC, and across the aisle. As the new chair, he wants to empower members to make a difference and to work to make GUCD an intersectional and inclusive organization. When not working on GUCD, Larry loves to run, play music, and meet new people.
Vice Chair & Director of Advocacy: Maria Cornell
As Vice Chair and Director of Advocacy, Maria hopes to make GUCD a more inclusive and multi-dimensional organization. She believes that Democrats succeed when everyone has a seat at the table, is listened to, and comes together through organizing and activism in all of its forms. In this new era of American politics, Maria believes it is progressives' duty to resist, react, and most importantly organize in their own community. In her free time, Maria can be found shopping for political t-shirts, searching for DC’s best fries, and eating a pint of Ben & Jerry’s in less than 11 minutes.

Majors: Economics and Math
Yuri is a Democrat because she feels that party’s platform helps her to advocate for her and others’ rights. As treasurer, Yuri hopes to engage more students in GUCD and allocate funds for lobbying and networking efforts. Yuri loves to play piano, explore new coffee shops, and she once independently consumed four pints of Ben & Jerry’s in one week.

Minas is a Democrat because he believes in every individual's right to live in a society free from discrimination, hate, and intolerance. He ran for his position because he wanted to transform his passion for progressive ideals into real action and results. As Comms Director he hopes to help all members stay politically engaged by hosting discussions and activism events. Minas enjoys biking, reading, and exploring DC. One time he ate two quadruple meat Chipotle Burritos in one sitting.

Majors: Government and Sociology
Caroline is a Democrat because she believes that we all have the responsibility to support others and respect all people. As Director of Membership, she hopes to increase the feeling of community among GUCD members and host great events for all the liberal Hoyas on campus. Caroline loves to volunteer, do theater, and go to spin classes. This semester she’s interning with Atlas Corps.
Director of Speakers: Emma Vahey
Hometown: Fairfield, Connecticut
As Director of Speakers, Emma hopes to bring speakers to campus and engage in dialogue with a diverse audience. She wants to cultivate important conversations on campus, which is more crucial now than ever before. Emma is a Democrat because she believes every human being is deserving of respect and opportunity. In her free time, she enjoys reading, people watching, and walking her dog and she’s met Hillary and Bill Clinton, as well as Barack Obama.
Alumni Relations & Advancement Chair: Trevor O'Connor
Trevor is the Alumni Relations and Advancement Chair of GU College Democrats and a current Sophomore in the College majoring in Government and minoring in Sociology and African American Studies. Trevor hopes to become a Civil Rights Lawyer, elevating and fighting for marginalized communities. By participating in GU Dems, Trevor hopes to make a tangible impact on campus and beyond in countering discrimination and protecting the civil rights, equality, and dignity of all.
